...arranges the occasional event for
members only...
This weekend
(15th
April 2007) Mercury MCC ran out to
Hawick…
22 bikes with
2 pillions (Sharon & Margaret) arrived at 9.30am Bothwell Services
to start the run to Hawick, via Biggar and Moffat.
The views
were spectacular and the roads were seriously dodgy with loads of
gravel, dead pheasants and plenty sheep.
The sheep
seemed ONLY to run out in front of Bob McAdam’s bike. Could
this be revenge from his deep, distant secret ‘sheep worrying’ days
–
REVENGE OF SHAUN. Margaret must have been thinking “What
the flock is all this about..?”
I noticed
Chris go over the central white line a few times and realised that
he must have been looking at his new “naked lady” decal on his
petrol tank instead of concentrating on his corners. Naughty,
naughty..!
We arrived in
Hawick and visited the
Steve Hislop Exhibition, only £2.50 entrance fee and I noticed a
striking resemblance between Rod McDonald & Steve Hislop (see last
photo...)
After we were
all replete with food, drink, bike chat and motorcycle exhibitions,
we headed back to Glasgow via Peebles. Some even ended up in
Esquires for a nice cold beer & a good day out was had by all...
