...is well known on the
Traditional Rally Circuit. We hold two Rallies every year, the two having more
similarities than differences. Both are "Trad" Rallies with entrance by
invitation only. MMCC Marshals hastily assemble a rough & ready camp-kitchen
where hot drinks are dispensed to weary bikers free of charge! Don't get too excited
though, what we lose on the drinks we try our damnedest to get back on the food - which is
served up from Mid-day Friday, all day Saturday and until noon on the Sunday (both Rallies
being held over 3 days.)
We normally open
our rallying season on the second weekend in April with the "Tam-O'Shanter".
Affectionately know as "The Tam", this rally centres about a
traditional Scottish village hall, where hot food and cold beer
are made readily available (at "Cash &
Carry" prices)... We throw together our own rock disco and at
least one band will entertain over the weekend.
The Tam has a great party atmosphere and no matter where
you hail from, the ride in takes you along some of the best motorcycling
roads in Scotland...
Our
own rallying season
continues on the second weekend in October,
when we hold the "Tartan Rally."
Shockingly similar in both format
and content to the "Tam", the "Tartan"
repeats the process at second, even more magnificent
site, where we continue the season's "must go" rallies...
Both Rallies
have similar aspects, with mud and rain playing a very large part in the
proceedings. However, there are the benefits of good food, good ale
(both cheap) and great
company. There is usually a ride-out to the nearest large town on the Saturday (for
those well enough to ride) and we always throw a belter of a party on the Saturday
night. This culminates in the presentation of small tokens of admiration (broken
chainsaw pistons on a bit of ol' windowsill) to those deemed worthy by the Hon' Committee
(Rat Bike, Grot Bike, Crap bike, Bike most likely to need AA/RAC assistance on the
way home, etc, etc... )
